At least once a year, you should bring your pet in for a check-up. This will include a full physical exam, and, at that time, your doctor may make other health care recommendations. Your veterinarian will examine your pet from head to tail, and we can administer any needed vaccinations at this time. In addition, we also recommend checking a fresh stool sample to look for any worms or parasites. We know you will be very happy you came to Tucson Small Animal Hospital, Ltd. for service.
We ask that you bring in any medical history you have for your pet(s) when you come to our office. Depending on the situation, we may request your pets' medical records from your previous veterinarian. It is often helpful to have these records in advance of your appointment so your doctor is able to review your pets' history. Any additional information you can provide about your pets' behavior at home is also very helpful.
In some circumstances, your doctor will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in the area in which your pet needs help. We feel it is very important to offer you and your pets the best medical care that is available. If your pet is referred to a specialist, your veterinarian will be in close contact with them in order to keep up-to-date on your pets' progress.
